OVERVIEW
Identify and implement improvements to processes andprocedures that will increase capacity, reduce cost; improve safetyand quality of company’s global supply chain manufacturingprocesses. Troubleshoot existing processes to improve on streamtime and operating efficiency. Work in a team environment withoperations and other members of the Unit Operating Teams. Utilizeprocess improvement methodologies including Lean Six Sigma toincrease company’s profits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot existingprocesses and initiate corrective actions to improve on stream timeand operating efficiency. Identify and implement improvements toprocesses and procedures that will increase capacity, reduceproduction cost, improve safety and quality of chemicalmanufacturing processes. Provide technical coverage for planttrials and startups. Propose changes in programming logic that willlead to improved process safety, quality, or production efficiency.
Develop in depth expertise on process equipment used at the plantssuch as reactors, agitators, heat exchangers, pumps, and filters.
Lead or be a member of PPA (potential problem analysis), JSA (jobsafety analysis), and PHAs (process hazard analysis) teams. DevelopPFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances for modified processes.
Develop project scopes for capital projects. Specify new processequipment including updating/revising equipment specificationsheets. Work with equipment vendors and operations to aide inselection. Perform data and statistical analysis to make soundprocessing decisions.
