30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101 Only candidates who are permanent in the Assistant Civil Engineer title or those who are reachable on the Open-Competitive lists (exam #1101 or exam #5015) may apply. If you do not meet the previously mentioned civil service criteria, you will not be considered for an interview. The Department of Design & Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is currently seeking Inspectors to join our Construction Management 5 – Brooklyn. Successful candidates will report to an Engineer-In-Charge and/or Resident Engineer and conduct technical inspections of construction, repair, and maintenance projects. These projects will involve roadways, sewers, pavements, and sidewalks. Specific responsibilities include assessing the grading, paving, and repaving of streets, connections to house sewers, retaining walls, and the maintenance of water, sewer, and utility manholes. Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position. ASSISTANT CIVIL ENGINEER – 20210
Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or 2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a Master’s degree from an accredited college in civil engineering. Preferred Skills Please note the following preferred skills for this position:1.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills2.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD3.Construction knowledge relevant to infrastructure work (i.e., roadway, sewer, and/or water main)4.Familiarity with
NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DEP
