Certified Instrument Technician Affiliated Dermatologists & Dermatologic Surgeons, P.A. Morristown, NJ 07960 Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Instrument Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of medical instruments and equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of aseptic techniques as well as the ability to manage inventory effectively. The Instrument Technician will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that all instruments are sterile, properly maintained, and ready for use in various medical procedures. Responsibilities Maintain and sterilize medical instruments according to established protocols and aseptic techniques. Conduct regular inspections and tests on instruments to ensure they are functioning correctly. Manage inventory of medical supplies and instruments, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained. Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and sterilization processes in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with healthcare staff to identify instrument needs for upcoming procedures. Assist in training new staff on proper handling and processing of medical instruments. Stay updated on advancements in medical technology and instrumentation practices. Skills Proficient in aseptic technique to prevent contamination during instrument handling. Experience with inventory management systems to track supplies effectively. Familiarity with medical terminology related to surgical instruments and procedures. Expertise in sterile processing techniques to ensure safety and compliance with health standards. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate records.
