Low Voltage Designer (RCDD) 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars Troy, MO • Hybrid work Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design of low voltage telecommunications projects. This role requires a strong understanding of low voltage facility infrastructure such as inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) copper and fiber cabling, network racks/cabinets, communications bonding and grounding, cable pathway systems, etc. Limited short-term travel may be required for the performance of site surveys and client meetings. Design work may include developing such documentation as the Bill of Materials (BOM), construction drawings, shop drawings, test plans, product submittals, etc. Candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all designs meet and comply with industry best practices and applicable standards such as OSHA, National Electrical Code (NEC), BICSI, and EIA/TIA. Responsibilities Survey, estimate and design low voltage telecommunications projects including IT facility infrastructure upgrades, network cabling, wired and wireless equipment deployments, telephone (VoIP) modernizations, and -48V DC power systems. Draft layout designs and schematics for low voltage electrical systems using AutoCAD and other design software. Conduct quality assurance (QA) inspections of installed systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Conduct site surveys to document and assess existing infrastructure conditions and make recommendations for improvements. Assist in the development of project plans and timelines for installation projects. Provide technical support and training to clients on system installation, operations and maintenance. Work with field teams to maintain accurate documentation of all installations. Qualifications Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 5+ years of verifiable experience in telecommunications project installation and/or design. Demonstrable knowledge of low voltage systems, wiring techniques, and layout design principles. Proficiency in using AutoCAD for drafting schematics and layouts is a plus. Familiarity with wireless survey and design tools such as Ekahau is a plus. Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and BICSI best practices. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
