Mechanical Designer 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Tullahoma, TN 37388 • Hybrid work PERIKIN Enterprises is seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to join our innovative team in Tullahoma, TN. PERIKIN is headquartered in Albuquerque, NM and provides management, engineering, and environmental services and executes construction projects for the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Energy (DoE), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and other organizations. As a Mechanical Designer at PERIKIN, you will play a pivotal role in transforming conceptual designs into precise technical drawings. Your expertise will contribute directly to the success of our projects by ensuring accuracy and adherence to our high standards of engineering excellence. This position is currently eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand project requirements and objectives. Create detailed drawings, plans, and diagrams using Autodesk CAD software (Inventor, Revit, etc.). Ensure technical accuracy and compliance with established standards and specifications. Revise and update drawings based on feedback and changes in project scope. Maintain documentation and records of drawings and related materials. Assist in reviewing and evaluating designs for manufacturability and functionality. Coordinate with other team members to resolve design issues and discrepancies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Associate degree in Mechanical Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred) A minimum of 6 years of direct experience in mechanical designing and drafting in an aerospace related field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Experience with drafting aerospace related components to include machine design, piping and plumbing, structural components, high pressure piping systems, etc. Experience with aerospace component product development, prototyping, and design transition to manufacturing. Performed preparation of technical documentation, including assembly instructions, parts lists/BOM development, and specifications to support manufacturing and assembly processes. Experience working closely with engineers, drafters assist in developing new products or improving existing ones by translating design concepts into detailed drawings. Engineering Drawing Practices Familiarity with PLM/PDM programs and processes Proven experience as a Mechanical Drafter or similar role. Proficiency in CAD software (Inventor, Solidworks, Revit, etc.) and other drafting tools. Strong understanding of mechanical principles and drafting techniques. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Experience in manufacturing processes and materials is a plus. Certification from a recognized drafting program is desirable.
