As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated and experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our field surveying team. Position Summary The Survey Crew Chief leads a field survey crew in the performance of boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and other types of surveys. This role is responsible for the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of fieldwork and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities Supervise and manage field survey operations and crew members. Conduct boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys. Operate GPS, robotic total stations, levels, and data collectors. Interpret construction plans, survey plats, and engineering documents. Ensure field data is collected accurately and transferred correctly to office staff. Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients. Maintain equipment and ensure proper calibration and functionality. Follow company safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety. Requirements High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or related field preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of field survey experience, including at least 3 years as a crew chief. Proficient with GPS and total station surveying equipment (Trimble preferred). Familiarity with data collection software and CAD-based deliverables. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to work outdoors in various environmental conditions and lift up to 50 lbs. Strong attention to detail, leadership, and communication skills.
