job summary: A Measurements Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world’s leading innovators in materials science in the Corning, NY area. This role will assist in data collection, testing, and equipment maintenance to support product development and performance evaluation in a lab environment focused on optical fiber systems.

Corning, New York job type: Contract salary: $17.25 – 24.72 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Associates responsibilities: Collect, organize, analyze, and graph data related to products and testing systems.
Publish reports and maintain accurate test records.
Support new product development and enhance existing products.
Calibrate, certify, maintain, and troubleshoot test equipment.
Document measurement procedures formally.
Collaborate with lab peers to ensure project completion.
Help improve measurement and experimental techniques for fiber systems.
Escalates complex issues as needed.
Works under supervision with routine instructions.
Recommends efficiency improvements.
Meets deadlines and maintains confidentiality.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with optical and electronic instrumentation.
Data analysis skills (Excel or similar tools).Experience handling optical fibers.
Programming in LabView and/or Visual Basic.
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree (AAS) in Electronics or related technology field preferred.0 to 3 years or experience.
