Job Description
Contract to Hire We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Accountant to take ownership of crucial financial functions, ensuring precision in daily accounting operations and month-end closings. In this role, you’ll handle general ledger reconciliations, process accounts payable/receivable, review consolidated financial statements, and manage vendor and fixed asset records. You’ll also play a vital role in audits, regulatory compliance, and special projects assigned by executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and record detailed journal entries for assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses. Manage subsidiary accounts and reconcile complex transactions. Conduct daily accounting tasks including bank reconciliations and cash receipt processing. Lead the preparation of month-end financial close, including general ledger adjustments. Maintain accuracy of vendor statements and ensure timely processing of payments. Resolve billing discrepancies and liaise effectively with vendors. Oversee fixed asset schedules and support tax preparation efforts. Ensure compliance with payment schedules for licenses, permits, and taxes. Contribute to external audits and provide detailed support as required. Support ad hoc projects and maintain meticulous financial records.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with QuickBooks is essential. Familiarity with financial operations in Broker-Dealer or Investment Advisory settings is a plus. Bilingual in Spanish is a strong advantage. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
