We are a well-established, family- and veteran-owned media company with operations in publishing, printing, and digital media. With multiple business entities under management, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting & Bookkeeping Consultant to optimize our financial systems and mentor internal staff.

Position Summary:

This is a hybrid role requiring on-site work in Minden, LA during the initial phase to evaluate, refine, and help implement standardized procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks skills, experience managing books for multiple companies, and a passion for teaching and mentoring others. You will work directly with executive leadership and provide oversight and training for our on-site bookkeeper.

Responsibilities:

Perform full-charge bookkeeping and accounting using QuickBooks Online Reconcile bank and credit card accounts across multiple companies Prepare and review financial statements, general ledger, and balance sheets Ensure proper handling of payroll , sales tax , and income tax filings Mentor and guide the in-house bookkeeper; train on processes and tools Develop and improve accounting procedures and internal controls Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies or inefficiencies Collaborate with the CEO, EVP, and VP to deliver clear financial reporting Use Excel/Google Sheets and other tools for budgeting and analysis

$30,000.00 – $48,000.00 per year Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
