Position Purpose We are seeking an experienced full-time, hands-on Senior Accountant . Working with and supporting the Controller, the ideal candidate for this position will have primary day-to-day responsibilities for supporting all financial related activities, maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance and enhancing operational efficiency. Essential Duties and responsibilities Responsible for following all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices.
General Accounting duties:
Assist with monthly & quarterly financial close process including preparation of journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and reporting. Provide support to corporate office on weekly & monthly deliverables. Maintain fixed asset data including additions, disposals, transfers and depreciation. Participate in the annual fixed assets physical inventory. Review Construction In Process (CIP) balances for timely capitalization of assets. Support internal and external audits and SOX testing. Identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline accounting and financial activities. Perform ad hoc projects and analyses as needed.
Cost Accounting Duties:
Review manufacturing transactions for accuracy and post to the General Ledger. Ensure standard costs and inventory valuation are accurate and tie to the GL and financial reports. Perform cost rolls for new parts and annual updates of labor, materials and overhead rates. Assist with the planning and execution of the annual physical inventory including analysis and reporting of results. Perform special projects and ad hoc requests as they pertain to inventory and costing
Other:
Knowledgeable in other accounting cycles including A/R cash receipts, A/R cash collections, A/P and payroll reporting. Job Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting position Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPS) and a solid understanding of GAAP regulations Manufacturing experience is preferred Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of the
IQMS ERP
