Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a SeniorAccountant to join a publicly traded organization in Raleigh. Inthis role you will be responsible for the preparation of NAIC andstatutory financial reporting and filings. The ideal candidate willbe a hands-on professional having expertise working incross-functional teams with a continuous improvement mindset forprocesses and controls. This is a hybrid role working 2 days fromhome.
Responsibilities:
Prepare quarterly and annual regulatory andstatutory filings, including all financial statements schedules andfootnotes/disclosure schedules to the financial statements Completemonthly accounting close related activities, including thepreparation of journal entries and account reconciliations forpremiums, losses, and statutory adjustments Research and documentStatutory technical accounting matters Prepare any U.S.GAAP-to-Statutory reconciliations and changes in accountingtreatment Prepare and file supplemental schedules and state andregulatory reports Compile financial data from tax and investmentteams to include in regulatory and statutory filings Supportpremium tax filings in all states and municipalities Supportexternal auditor activities relating to statutory audits, includingproviding certain schedules and variance explanations and auditedfinancial statements and related footnote disclosures theretoPartner with IT and other departments cross-functionally tocontinually improve processes Assist with all regulatory-relatedaudits and reviews
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accountingCPA Certification is required Minimum four years of generalaccounting experience Working knowledge of GAAP Proficient inMicrosoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills Experience withOracle E-Business Suite or other similar software general ledgerfunctions Strong attention to detail Superior organizational andtime management skills with the ability to manage multiplepriorities Ability to work independently in a fast-pacedenvironment Strong people skills; able to collaborate effectivelywith a team, as well as with individuals in other departments andat other levels within the organization Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills Strong analytical and critical thinkingabilities
