Staff Accountant Position Available In Bergen, New Jersey

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our clients finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a passion for the food industry. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and supporting overall financial health of the company. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Manage AP and AR processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections. Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements, preparing for audits and assisting with audit processes. Oversee inventory accounting, including tracking and reconciling inventory levels, costs, and variances. Monitor and analyze expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints. Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, identify trends, and provide insights to management. Work closely with other departments, providing financial insights and support for various projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the food industry or a related sector. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
