Position Overview The Project Accountant is responsible for preparing AIA (American Institute of Architects) and change order billings to general contractors. The role must also reconcile client’s statement of accounts with the Company’s records to ensure collectability. Duties of this role include but are not limited to the following: Key Responsibilities Ensure billing compliance with the terms of the contract Prepare monthly analysis of individual projects to confirm that the monthly billing goals are met Prepare and send out monthly Payment Applications/Invoices to General Contractors Process lien releases Partner with the collections to reconcile variances in the application of payments Complete job statement reconciliations and analysis Effectively communicate with internal and external Project Managers regarding monthly billing and change orders Execute and invoice job specific change orders Education/Certifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred 1-2 years of prior Project Accounting/Billing Analyst experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities AIA Billing Experience preferred Experience in the construction industry preferred Proven experience to effectively communicate between internal and external client stakeholders is required. Ability to work well under deadlines and respond to changes in priorities Exceptional attention to detail, and talent for accuracy and precision Advanced computer skills in MS Office Attention to detail Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Requirements After receipt of conditional offer of employment, must be able to pass drug screen/physical/background check.
