We are seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant to manage the end-to-end accounts payable process while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This is a hands-on role that blends transactional AP execution with accounting ownership, ideal for someone eager to grow in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. We have offices in San Francisco and San Diego for those who prefer hybrid or office settings. Oura employees in other major cities (like Boston and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.
What you will do:
Process and review vendor invoices, ensuring appropriate coding, approvals, and timely payment Prepare weekly payment runs (ACH, wires, international payments) in accordance with company policies Maintain and reconcile the AP subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis Record month-end accruals for unbilled expenses and perform variance analysis Maintain accurate vendor records and support onboarding of new vendors Ensure compliance with internal controls over financial reporting (SOX) Reconcile and audit employee expense reports for policy compliance Assist with implementation of AP systems or automation tools (e.g., Tipalti, Coupa, NetSuite) Prepare schedules and documentation to support internal and external audits Support process improvements in the procure-to-pay (P2P) cycle Requirements We would love to have you on our team if you have: 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or General Accounting Strong understanding of accrual accounting, AP aging, and GAAP principles Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and AP automation tools Experience in a scaling or multi-entity environment, ideally in tech or consumer products Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with deadlines Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze and reconcile data Excellent communication skills and comfort working across time zones
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with IPO readiness, SOX controls, or external audits Familiarity with international payments and multi-currency AP Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Benefits At Oura, we care about you and your well-being.
