We are on the lookout for a dynamic, detail-oriented PermanentStaff Accountant to join our engineering industry team. This roleis not just about numbers, it’s about contributing to thedevelopment of strategic financial decisions that drive oursuccess. As a Permanent Staff Accountant, you will be responsiblefor a variety of accounting activities including general ledgerpreparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, andthe support of budget and forecast activities. You will be workingclosely with our financial team to create and analyze financialreports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accountspayable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. Job Details Responsibilities:
Prepare and post monthly journal entries, ensuring transactions areaccurately recorded in the general ledger. Manage the monthlyfinancial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred areproperly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balancereconciliations, and report preparation. Participate in the ongoingdevelopment and maintenance of internal control policies,procedures, and operational strategies including the review andanalysis of trends, results, and discrepancies. Manage andreconcile all financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzingaccount information. Prepare accurate, timely financial statementsin accordance with our established schedule and with input from therest of the accounting department. Conduct regular ledgerreconciliation and manage monthly accruals to ensure all financialreporting deadlines are met. Handle monthly and annual closings andarrange for debt payment. Manage accounts receivable (A/R) andaccounts payable (A/P) and perform reconciliations. Use GreatPlains, Excel, and other accounting software to process businesstransactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements,expense vouchers and receipts. Assist with tax audits and taxreturns. Support the financial planning and budgeting processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or arelated field. 2 years of related experience in accounting orfinancial systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite withadvanced skills in Excel. Experience with ERP systems, Great Plainssoftware is a plus. Strong understanding of accounting theory andprinciples. Experience in preparing and posting journal entries,accruals, reconciliations, A/R, A/P, and financials. Excellentanalytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accountingprinciples to analyze financial reports and forecasts. Strongattention to detail and respect for confidentiality. Solid writtenand verbal communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skillsand the ability to make data-driven business decisions. Knowledgeof federal and state financial regulations. Ability to workindependently, as well as part of a team. Proven ability to managemultiple projects simultaneously. CPA certification is a plus.
