Overview:
A new private equity real estate firm is seeking a skilled Property Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for a finance professional with real estate experience who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting and is looking to make a long-term impact as the firm scales.
What You’ll Do:
You’ll take ownership of the financial reporting process for a portfolio of income-generating properties, ensuring accurate and timely reporting while also supporting strategic financial functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee monthly close for assigned properties, ensuring timely and accurate reporting Record and reconcile financial transactions including journal entries and adjustments Maintain tenant receivable records and monitor collections Reconcile cash accounts and oversee banking activity Manage property accounts payable, including vendor setup and invoice processing Maintain and update general ledger account schedules and accrual entries Produce monthly reporting packages with variance analysis Support preparation of financial data for investor distributions and lender reporting Assist with external audits and year-end reporting requirements Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis and internal projects as needed
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within real estate or property management Experience with accounting for senior living assets is a plus Yardi experience is strongly preferred A strong foundation in accounting principles and internal controls Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Ability to work autonomously and communicate financial data clearly Eagerness to take on new responsibilities in a growth-driven environment
