JOB DESCRIPTION JOB GOAL
To provide assistance to grant administrators and department managers in all aspects of implementing and monitoring grant fiscal requirements, which includes personnel, finance, payroll and accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or approved equivalency diploma. Minimum of three (3) years of successful school office experience with one (1) year of accounting experience. Comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum experience qualifications. Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of office methods and procedures and familiarity with the use of standard office equipment. Knowledge of the budgetary process of the School System. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting procedures and techniques. Ability to keep complex statistical and financial reports. Ability to express one’s self clearly and effectively. Ability to work accurately and independently without direct supervision. Knowledge of proprietary software such as AS400 and JD Edwards. Knowledge of office software products such as Word, Excel, Access, etc. Ability to answer the phone in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to work cooperatively with others.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform clerical and fiscal related responsibilities for the department. Process all purchase orders in compliance with School Board policy. Maintain all accounting records in compliance with District policy. Assist Supervisor in submission of necessary reports and project deliverables. Monitor all budget funds and grant monies assigned. Maintain professional relationships with all personnel. Communicate effectively. Prepare materials for auditors and cooperate fully with audit needs. Keep the Supervisor well informed on all aspects of fund production and expenditures. Pay all bills in a timely manner. Communicate with vendors as needed. Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities. Communicate effectively with staff and vendors. Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner. Prepare all required reports and maintain all appropriate records. Work cooperatively with finance and other district departments. Follow all School Board policies, rules and regulations. Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
