Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Specialist to support our team including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. This position will have exposure to all aspects of the company and ideal for a motivated individual looking to grow their career in an entrepreneurial environment reporting directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily accounting operations, including preparing journal entries and assisting in the preparation of financial statements Perform account and bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy

• Ownership of accounts receivable
• Ownership of accounts payable invoices with accurate cost coding
• Process payroll for 10-20 team members
• Track project costs and work closely with project teams to ensure financial performance aligns with the budgets and business objectives
• Analyze job costs and variance reports to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Generate and track 1099s, W9s, and certificates of insurance (COIs)
• Month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare documentation for tax filings and insurance audits
• Maintain vendor relationships and communication
• Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of ad hoc reports as needed
• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness while constantly looking for ways to improve and eliminate waste

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• 2-5 years of experience in QuickBooks Online and payroll processing
• Experience in construction accounting and job costing preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors
• Flexible and adaptable to evolving processes and priorities
• Must be able to reliably commute to Ashland, MA. Some work from home opportunity may be available for the right candidate
