Accounting Assistant 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Gorham, ME 04038 We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Gorham, Maine. This role offers a flexible, part-time schedule and is ideal for someone with foundational accounting experience who is eager to expand their skills. You will play a key role in managing accounts payable and other essential accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

Process and manage approximately 500 accounts payable entries monthly, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Support various accounting functions, including accounts receivable and bank reconciliations. Utilize Sage Intacct for accounting tasks, with training provided as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth financial operations across 30-40 active projects. Maintain accurate financial records and assist in preparing periodic reports. Address discrepancies and resolve issues related to vendor payments. Assist in improving processes and ensuring compliance with financial policies. Provide additional support to the accounting team as required. At least 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field. Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting principles. Proficiency in using accounting software, with experience in Sage Intacct preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Flexibility to work a part-time schedule that aligns with team needs. A degree in accounting or a related field is a plus but not required.
