Summary The A/R Business Office Assistant is responsible for all receivables such as student accounts, summer programs, and all miscellaneous funds. Essential job function Accounts receivable:
Processes student batches from registration, financial aid, and student life Collects student accounts and answers questions from students and families Monitors the collections of student accounts and follows procedures when an account is uncollectible Works with Nelnet, the third party payment plan provider, in aiding students to pay their account over an extended period of time Maintains spreadsheets for on campus rents and summer program receivables, and accepts and processes cash for both programs Reconciles student account details subsidiary ledger to the general ledger Business Office assistant: Answers questions at the Business Office window Enters budget transfers and processes miscellaneous cash Performs office work such as filing, shredding, and photocopies and replenishes business office forms, delivering paystubs to mailboxes and Business Office mail Manages activity to One-Card meal system Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Computer skills including excel, ability to multitask, and strong organizational skills Team player, strong work ethic, and friendly and approachable disposition Compensation and benefits Hourly wage: $19.00-$22.00, commensurate with experience Full benefits package, including health, dental, retirement plan, and professional development opportunities
