Description The Title IX, ADA, and Compliance Coordinator at Piedmont University is responsible for coordinating the University’s compliance to Title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Working in partnership with Student Life and Leadership, Campus Safety, and Human Resources to develop and implement educational programs regarding discrimination and sexual harassment prevention, ensuring faculty, staff and students understand their rights and responsibilities under the law. Oversees and coordinates Title IX investigations, responses, and resolutions to complaints, to include training and supervision of investigators and training of Deputy Title IX Coordinators. Further, coordinates the institution’s Clery Compliance program, working collaboratively with various offices throughout the university to develop policies, procedures, activities, and protocols to ensure the institution’s full and complete compliance with all provisions of the Federal Jeanne Clery Act, including an annual security report, a public Daily Crime Log, emergency notification requirements, testing, identifying and training Campus Security Authorities (CSA’s), an annual list of all properties owned and/or leased by the University, collecting annual crime statistics for incidents occurring with Clery geography as well and trips and travel that meet the definition of Clery collectable crime statistics, and reports of missing students. This position provides leadership for the University’s efforts to ensure an accessible, welcoming learning/working environment for students and employees with disabilities while ensuring program integrity and compliance with federal and state regulations. The coordinator will collaborate with campus offices and partners including Administration and Finance, Student Affairs, Residence Life, Human Resources, Campus Police, Academic Affairs, and others. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Serves at the Piedmont University Title IX Coordinator – Oversees, coordinates, and ensures investigations of reports and complaints of sexual misconduct are adequate, reliable, timely, confidential, and impartial in accordance with current Title IX regulations.
Keeps Piedmont University’s Title IX policy up to date in compliance with current Title IX regulations.
Collaborates with leadership and campus community to disseminate information related to Title IX.
Ensures ongoing compliance with Title IX in all aspects of the law and current regulations.
Coordinates with Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. Coordinates the institution’s Clery Act compliance program.
Works with various offices and services on campus to gather statistical data related to crimes disclosed to those offices; Consolidates relevant data from these sources with information and policies from across institutional departments.
Gathers crime and disciplinary referral data from various internal/external sources as needed.
Collects information, prepares, and publishes the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report and submits crime data to the Department of Education.
Maintains all Clery Act records.
Prints and posts online the Daily Crime Log for all campuses.
Reviews Timely Warning and Emergency Notification requirements.
Coordinates annual drills and testing.
Establish and coordinate meetings of the Clery Act Compliance Committee.
Serves as the 504 and ADA Compliance Officer.
Maintains and updates case management software/databases for Title IX and ADA. Provide leadership, strategic vision and overall supervision to ensure access and assistance for students and employees with disabilities.
Meet with students to determine current accommodation needs and provide ongoing support and communicate to and collaborate with faculty and staff regarding necessary accommodations for students and employees.
Stay current on theories, best practices, and current legislation related to disability issues, developmental education and student development; participate in professional organizations and professional development activities.
Facilitates all aspects of accommodation needs including, but not limited to, test proctoring, note taking, ADA memos, lecture records, translations, etc.
Other relevant duties as assigned.

Incumbents must remain relevant in the area of employment and flexible to changes in work related to institutional needs. Typical Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
Title IX and Clery Act training and experience with 2 or more years’ experience working with Title IX in a higher education environment. Licenses and Certifications Valid Georgia Driver’s License (or obtained within 30 days of hire date) and satisfactory MVR. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Skill in the use of computers and related software applications including Microsoft Office suite and a HRIS.
Knowledge of legal requirements for the acquisition and retention of employment and/or contract data and documentation.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Knowledge of human resources processes, procedures, and documentation, as applicable to a public institution.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to maintain high accuracy and work quality standards.
Data management and tracking skills.
Ability to provide clear technical guidance and instruction to non-technical personnel.
Ability to collaboratively and effectively work in a diverse and inclusive environment. The incumbent will be required to perform light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the position is rated for Light Work. This position requires the incumbent to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
