Treasury is responsible for many of the financial operations of state government, including managing more than $100 billion in assets through its various investment programs. We administer and invest the State’s Retirement Program, RetireReadyTN, which combines the state pension plan, Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, and the State’s Defined Contribution plans. Treasury serves all Tennesseans by helping to educate and empower them to make smart financial choices, and by providing public-serving programs in the areas of college savings, financial literacy, unclaimed property, risk management, criminal injuries compensation, and more.

Job Overview:

The Investment Risk and Compliance Analyst will focus on assessing and monitoring various investment and non-investment risks, including daily monitoring of investment exception reports and analyzing investment activities and holdings relative to legal/policy requirements and other parameters. This position will report to the Director of Investment Securities Compliance and interact with various stakeholders including the Investment Staff and external third parties. At the present time, this position is primarily remote, with occasional required in-person meetings. It is anticipated that the department will regularly utilize its downtown Nashville office on a hybrid schedule in the future. Job location is subject to change at the discretion of the department. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:

Performs various daily, weekly, and monthly recurring tasks that will evidence compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines and support various exception reports. Provides research support for projects involving equity, fixed income, private equity and real estate Manages incoming communication and informs relevant team members, as needed. Collaborate on team projects related to investment holdings, activities, and portfolio management Reviews, updates, and when necessary, creates desk level procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics Advanced Microsoft skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Proven ability to develop research documents, procedures and memos Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities Robust attention to detail and aptitude for discernment Strong financial analysis, analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
