Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement revenue cycle strategies that drive revenue optimization and financial sustainability.
  • Manage the day-to-day functions of the patient intake, billing and accounts receivable department by providing oversight of all coding, billing, collections, payment posting, credentialing and provider enrollment, pre-authorization, and measurement of KPIs of the Revenue Cycle function.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to the revenue cycle billing team, ensuring high performance, accountability, and alignment with company goals.
  • Manage staffing, budgeting, and departmental goals to ensure optimal team performance.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, ensuring the team is aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations, including HIPAA, billing codes, and reimbursement policies.
  • Oversee audits, internal controls, and compliance initiatives to identify and resolve discrepancies or inefficiencies in the revenue cycle.
  • Evaluate and streamline revenue cycle workflows to improve operational efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance billing performance.
  • Conducts detailed performance and production analysis to identify trends, optimize processes, and provide actionable insights to improve collection outcomes.
  • Improve policies and procedures to minimize days in A/R
  • Knowledge of and ability to work insurance claims, rejections, charge entry & patient statements sent to patients.
  • Knowledge of Reporting analytics – ability to run reports on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
  • Continually review process, market trends and payer/regulatory changes to identify necessary improvements and prevent risk related occurrences.
  • Works in collaboration with revenue cycle software vendor to add, update or improve system on an ongoing basis. (New CPT codes, Insurances, improvements etc.)
  • Manage patient escalated issues and resolve grievances.
  • Ensure HIPAA, payer‑policy, and SOC‑2 compliance; serve as primary audit contact.
  • Hire, develop, and lead a team of billing specialists. Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing culture.
  • Generate and present billing and reimbursement reports to executive leadership. Monitor key metrics such as clean claim rate, DSO, and denial trends to drive decisions.
  • Partner with finance, clinical, and operations teams to align RCM goals with broader business objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Finance, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively more responsible experience in leading billing and data reconciliation teams in healthcare leadership capacity in a mid-to-large size for profit healthcare organization
  • Minimum of five (5) years of senior level management experience in healthcare leadership.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare billing systems, payer relationships, and industry best practices. Experience

  • Expertise in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and healthcare billing software (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, ECW etc.).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
