Founded in 1993, Bayview Asset Management is an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit, including whole loans, asset-backed securities, mortgage servicing rights, and other credit-related assets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist in the closing of transactions on-time according to required timelines determined by Portfolio Management Develop accurate transaction budgets Make sure transaction definitive agreements reflect the economic terms negotiated by Portfolio Management team in the Term Sheet Ensure counterparties have transparency into the transaction process including key dates and deliverables Independently work with finance, accounting, and IT to ensure internal requirements are met and reporting requirements fulfilled Develop, maintain and distribute comprehensive T&R’s such that both internal and external partners are aware of any timeline slippage In concert with the PM team and structuring team, ensure the calculation agent models the inaugural payment date report to the loan documents

Deal Execution:

Able to coordinate all components of the day-to-day transaction closing process including managing 3rd parties, setting up the appropriate legal entities, and ensuring internal stake-holders are engaged Understands the drivers of timeline in transactions and how to achieve closing by the given deadline Can develop a good understanding of new transaction structures and understand how to close them Develops rapport with external counterparties Flags internally when expenses are trending above approved levels, or when timelines are extending Ensures all collection/reserve accounts are appropriately invested

Contract Finance:

Works with internal and external parties to ensure legal documents reflect negotiated deal terms, and gets sign-off from legal, tax, accounting, and IT Actively tracks document negotiation, and pushes when needed to move documents through the pipeline as expeditiously as possible Flags any relevant legal issues internally, and follows up as needed Maintains a complete, organized repository of all executed legal documents and engagement letters in the TM directory

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES

General quantitative and analytical skills Understands financial concepts especially around fixed income Able to review models of transaction waterfalls Ability to act independently to reach individual and team goals Manages time well and plans activities ahead in order to deliver work product on time Proficiency with Excel modeling Excellent organizational skills and can manage numerous transactions at the same time Good presentation skills and able to build rapport with internal and external parties Confidence to speak up when transactions are off-track from intended deadline or costs are trending outside of budget

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent education and related training 3-5 years of work experience in rating agencies or ABS investment shops

LOCATION & COMPENSATION

This role will be a hybrid position (3 days onsite) based in either Bayview’s Coral Gables, FL or NYC offices. Base compensation is expected to be $95,000 – $120,000 with the opportunity for incentive compensation including bonus compensation. EEOC Bayview is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
