Workers Compensation Representative Lancaster Orthopedic Group, PC Mount Joy, PA 17552 Lancaster County is located in South Central Pennsylvania along the Susquehanna River, approximately 70 miles west of Philadelphia. Lancaster Orthopedic Group is looking to add a Workers Comp Rep to its team. An ideal candidate will have two years medical insurance and Worker’s Compensation background ( understanding of EOB’s is a plus).
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent
Specific Abilities:
Ability to accurately type 45 words per minute and familiarity with PC & keyboard. Ability to understand PA Workers’ compensation laws & insurance contracts. Must demonstrate basic, accurate bookkeeping skills, above average verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate proper telephone etiquette. Must be able to prioritize and organize. Must have the ability to cooperate with/or work under the direction of others and independently. Prior experience filing fee reviews via the WCAIS system preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
: Performs the following specific job duties, including but not limited to:
Precertification & Verification:
Employee will be responsible for verification of correct insurance and claim information for all Work Comp claims. Responsible for filing fee reviews to the PA Work Comp Bureau. Will attend Work Comp seminars and stay abreast of policy changes.
Patient Accounts:
Responds to patient inquiries by telephone in a courteous, calm and professional manner, identifying self and department at all times. Assists patients in any way possible, explaining their bill, making payment arrangements, or providing other requested information. Is liaison between the physician and patient. Notifies the Collector of a payment when appropriate.
Organization:
File all correspondence, EOB’s, forms and checks in proper location in a timely and orderly fashion. Keep work area neat and personal files organized and identified. Display neat, legible handwriting.
Communication:
Assists in answering incoming phone calls from patient’s and employers regarding Workers’ Comp accounts. Communicates clearly and effectively and consults with Business Office Supervisor promptly regarding problems or concerns that arise. Offers suggestions to create and improve efficiency within the office. Communicates issues to co-workers and insurance companies to resolve problems in a timely and professional manner.
Teamwork:
Works collaboratively and in a positive, professional manner with co-workers, other department employees, Business Office Supervisor, and insurance company representatives to assure patient satisfaction. Avoids cliques, gossip and tension within the department.

Monday-Friday 7:30AM to 4:00
