This full-time role reports directly to the Director of Underwriting and is focused on managing and renewing existing commercial insurance policies.

• Renewal Underwriter Responsibilities:

• Manage all renewal activity for the Auto Commercial department, including reviewing policy documents for accuracy and completeness, rating accounts, and utilizing fleet analysis tools for fleet renewals
• Support new business efforts by preparing quotes and proposals, conducting pre-reviews of underwriting submissions, and evaluating referrals in accordance with underwriting guidelines
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries, delivering outstanding service through clear communication, follow-up, and timely updates to quotes as requested by underwriters
• Partner with the Director of Underwriting to meet departmental goals, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and streamlined operations
• Maintain organized and up-to-date records, including monthly data uploads for MVR monitoring and follow-up on monitored MVRs, issuing exclusions or communicating with insureds when applicable
• Service active policies by reviewing and processing endorsement requests (e.g., driver/vehicle changes, additional interests, contact updates), issuing certificates of insurance, and managing cancellation notices and other policy documents
• Assist with loss control efforts by coordinating site visits, documenting reports, and supporting underwriters with related tasks and documentation
• Perform various administrative functions as needed, including translation assistance, calendar and meeting coordination, travel arrangements, and document preparation to support management and team operations.

• Renewal Underwriter Requirements:

• 1 or moreyears of experience in commercial insurance underwriting, with a strong focus on managing renewal business
• Proven ability to handle an established book of renewal accounts, including risk review, information gathering, quoting, and account servicing
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, ensuring accuracy in all underwriting and policy servicing tasks
• Bachelor’s degree required.
