Water Asset Manager Job Description We are looking for a dedicated Water Asset Manager to inspect water asset valves, hydrants, meters, and water meter boxes for leakage. The role involves using acoustic sensors and headphones to detect leaks, working closely with a project manager, and traveling between job sites. You will also use phone apps for mapping and work outdoors in various elements. Responsibilities + Conduct non-revenue water recovery and control services, including leak detection and noise correlation. + Plan and deploy acoustic noise loggers, establish water networks, and identify assets. + Implement step tests and recover flow and pressure data. + Progress in the industry and use any equipment the Water Asset Management division utilizes. + Complete job forms, time sheets, and other required documentation. + Ensure safe working methods at all times and participate in weekly safety meetings. + Read, interpret, and measure Map/GIS information. + Facilitate all Leak Detection work requirements and advise on night work as needed. + Find solutions in the field for the benefit of the customer and the Water Asset Management division. + Attend or conduct site meetings as needed. + Maintain and upkeep all equipment related to specific projects and produce quarterly stock checks. Essential Skills + Experience in Environmental Science, GIS, Biology, Geology, or a related field preferred. + High School diploma or GED required. + At least one to two years of experience in a physically demanding job. + Experience with Water Distribution Systems and/or Acoustic Leak Detection is desirable. + Experience working outside in extreme conditions regularly. + Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day, frequently bend, and lift up to 20 lbs. + Experience in reading, interpreting, and measuring Map/GIS information preferred. + Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including travel and extended hours. + Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal instruction. + Strong communication and customer service skills. + Safety-conscious mindset. + Valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle + Ability to pass a drug screen. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with meter reading software, troubleshooting, safety procedures, and documentation. Work Environment The candidate will report to the job site daily and work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with the option of 5 eight-hour days or 4 ten-hour days. The role requires travel and willingness to be away for up to two weeks at a time, with an average duration of two weeks per site. Travel destinations may include Florida, Michigan, Texas, and other locations. The company will provide a company card for expenses, a company vehicle, and a company phone. The first year will involve more travel as the company grows its Tennessee clientele. Long-term opportunities include a more GIS-focused position and working as a Project Manager. The dress code includes high boots, pants, and t-shirts, with PPE such as safety vests, sun protection, and bug spray provided. Water is available on trucks in coolers.
