6 SUMMARY The Loan Originator Assistant (MLOA) position is responsible for providing assistance to their assigned Loan Originator (MLO or Sales Manager) as they work to convert prospective clients into closed/funded loans. Through providing sales assistance, loan coordination, document collection, customer service, and follow through with all facets of the loan origination process to the assigned MLO, the incumbent will substantially increase MLO productivity.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred 2+ years’ experience as a loan coordinator, loan originator assistant, or processor Must have NMLS license Familiarity with Encompass and Mortgage Returns Skilled in internet research; proficient in using the internet effectively Proficient in Microsoft Office programs Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Monitor the status of each file and ensure accurate and efficient processing through to closing, including necessary research Organize and track active loans as directed by the mortgage loan originator Obtain borrower applications and pre-qualify applicant – present and review with senior loan originator/sales manager Possess superior customer service skills Complete and review required forms with borrower – collect documentation and fees and submit to underwriting Review files for completeness, accuracy and compliance Answer, screen and direct calls for individual loan originators, giving top quality customer service Maintain MLO database and coordinate loan submissions to processing and closing Assist with pricing and rate locks Update loan originator pipeline status and update borrower on status of loan Learn and utilize various in-house technical systems and programs to provide optimal support to their MLO(s) Must be knowledgeable of FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA and all current mortgage loan products in market Adhere to all federal and state compliance guidelines relative to the retail mortgage lending NMLS # initial registration and annual renewal is required for this role. This process includes fingerprinting and background checks.
