Overview
This position is responsible for operating document imaging equipment to create electronic files or archives. This role involves preparing documents for scanning, scanning documents, and verifying the quality of digital images. The Document Classification and Image Specialist ensures that documents are accurately indexed and stored according to organizational guidelines. The loan documents come from a large variety of loan sources, including consumer, small business, SBA, commercial, attorney-prepared loans, participation and syndication loans and many others. Responsibilities
Prepare loan documents for high-speed scanning by removing clips, staples, adding bar code sheets, placing documents in the proper order.
Use high-speed scanners to scan loan documents into the imaging system.
Review documents to verify they are accurately placed in the imaging system and are formatted, categorized and indexed properly.
Maintain bar codes sheets needed for high-speed scanning.
Verify the quality of scanned images, ensuring they are clear and legible.
Keep the scanner clean and in good working order. Notify Supervisor or Manger when service is needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school education
1 year of loan documentation experience including retail consumer, commercial and/or SBA loan documentation
Working knowledge of high-speed scanning equipment
Ability to determine if images are good quality
Ability to follow procedures for preparation and scanning of documents
Basic knowledge of document image storage systems
Ability to focus on accuracy and attention to details
Basic organizational skills
Communication skills
Basic computer skills
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
