The Payroll Administrator will be a key member of the Finance team, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple jurisdictions. This role supports compliance with employment laws and tax regulations, manages complex payroll-related tasks, and serves as a resource to employees company-wide. A proactive, detail-oriented, and service-focused approach is essential to maintaining efficient and compliant payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update employee data in the Payroll/HRIS system. Process weekly and biweekly payrolls, including taxes and routine transactions. Handle per diem, travel reimbursements, and other allowances for employees on temporary assignments. Ensure compliance with multi-state tax and employment laws. Remit union fringe benefits and support union audits. Support tax filings and benefit-related payroll transactions. Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues promptly. Assist with audits for workers’ compensation, retirement plans, and other projects. Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide accurate payroll data and insights. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field (preferred). 3-5 years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll and tax reporting. Experience with travel reimbursements, per diem, and union payrolls. Strong understanding of employee benefits, fringe benefits, and payroll compliance. Familiarity with Payroll/HRIS systems; experience with UKG is a plus. High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential information. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
