Appraisal Technician 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Nahunta, GA 31553 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Appraiser to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating the value of various assets, properties, or financial instruments. This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles, quantitative research methods, and technical accounting practices. The Appraiser will play a crucial role in providing accurate assessments that inform decision-making processes within the organization. Duties
- Assists the general public by providing property assessment information; assists with the location and assessment of properties.
- Copies and files property records, maps, and plats.
- Maintains property record card files.
- Assists the general public by accepting real and personal property returns and applications for exemption.
- Prepares purchase requisitions for equipment and supplies.
- Monitors departmental expenditures and the current budget.
- Maintains various computer files; enters changed property data to the computer.
- Types correspondence, reports, and forms.
- Collects deeds and plats from the Office of the Clerk of Court to prepare transfers for valuation.
- Serves as secretary to the Board of Tax Assessors as assigned, including scheduling appointments and recording meeting minutes.
- Prepares purchase orders for payments.
- Prepares deposits weekly.
- Collects payments and receipts all monies collected for exemptions, maps, and property record cards.
- Performs related duties. Skills
- Skill in performing basic mathematical calculations.
- Skill in researching deeds.
- Skill in reading and interpreting maps and deeds.
- Skill in filing.
- Skill in operating a computer, calculator, and copier.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
