Job Description
Vaco Boston has a partnered with a company in Boston that is looking to hire a Tax Manager to their team.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of corporate tax compliance including preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for the company and affiliated entities. Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision process under ASC 740. Monitor and interpret tax law changes and assess impact on company operations, with particular attention to industry-specific issues. Ensure timely and accurate filings related to premium taxes, franchise taxes, excise taxes, and other regulatory fees. Coordinate and manage external auditors and tax advisors. Lead tax planning initiatives to identify savings opportunities and minimize risk. Prepare and maintain tax forecasts, cash tax modeling, and deferred tax calculations. Assist with the tax implications of M&A transactions, restructurings, and other strategic initiatives. Respond to and manage tax audits and inquiries from regulatory authorities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, actuarial, and operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred. 4+ years of corporate tax experience, preferably in the professional services or financial services industry. Public accounting background (Big 4 or large regional firm) and/or in-house tax experience. Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax laws. Proficiency in ASC 740 accounting for income taxes. Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across departments.
