Description:
The Northumberland National Bank is currently looking for a full time Teller. NNB is looking for a candidates who are high energy, have a high level of organizational skills, who are detail oriented, with a perennial “can-do” attitude and who display professionalism at all times. Summary Provides services to customers, ensuring transactions are completed in accordance with the bank’s established policies and procedures. This position has extensive customer contact and responsibility for answering questions, and solving customer problems. An NNB Teller actively participates in the branch incentive program by promoting and participating in a sales and service culture consistent with the bank’s strategic plan. Typical Schedule Monday 8:00
- 5:15 pm; Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:00
- 4:15 pm; Thursday 8:00
- 5:15 pm; Friday 8:00 a.
m. to 6:15 p.m. and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. This position will float between our Selinsgrove Branch and our Hummels Wharf Branch. Flexibility is required to ensure adequate staffing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain a teller drawer to accept cash and cash items from customers Receive checking and savings deposits: verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back and issue receipts of deposit Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete hold notices Process savings withdrawals.
Cash checks:
verify endorsement, receive proper identification and ensure validity Answer basic customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and consumer privacy policies Appropriately issue, redeem and log monetary instruments Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded Verifies and processes night deposits and mail deposits Assists with ATM balancing and restocking if trained to do so Follow bank policies and procedures for customer and account maintenance Balance drawer daily, including periodic batching of cashed checks Complete required CTRs and SAMs Prepares affidavits and stop payments Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job Participate in and/or complete all necessary bank training Required to maintain the strictness of confidentiality in all matters Comply with all company policies and procedures Other administrative duties as assigned
Requirements:
COMPETENCIES
Excellent time management, judgment, decision-making and critical thinking skills with a strong attention to detail Exceptional communication skills with an enhanced social perceptiveness and a service-oriented disposition Knowledge of computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word) Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and issues relating to the bank’s customers, policies, and personnel Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including customer needs assessment, and meeting quality standards for services Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED; 6 Months Cash Handling Experience.
