This leadership role is critical to overseeing and directing essential accounting functions related to revenue, deposits, and ecommerce solutions across the university. The successful candidate will provide guidance and support to both the Auxiliary Services Manager and the Deposit Accounting Manager, ensuring operational efficiency, accurate financial reporting, and compliance with university policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities Lead and provide direction to the Auxiliary Services Manager, who is responsible for overseeing and coordinating centralized billing and accounts receivable functions. Direct and support the Deposit Accounting Manager in managing timely and accurate processing of departmental deposits, credit card payments, and electronic deposits. Participate in discussions related to system implementation and leverage a solid understanding of system functionality to assist in the configuration and setup of financial systems modules used for revenue accounting. Play a key role in the onboarding and implementation of ecommerce solutions across campus. Ensure that these solutions are compliant with university policies and auxiliary operations. Build and maintain strong partnerships throughout the university to support the ongoing success of auxiliary fiscal operations. Regularly meet with auxiliary department leadership and financial staff to address concerns, streamline processes, and enhance operational efficiency. Work with departmental staff and other central university offices to ensure the financial viability and proper accounting of university auxiliaries, ensuring alignment with both financial goals and university policies. Evaluate and respond to user requests for system roles, and lead efforts to implement functional improvements. Test and resolve routine production issues, ensuring optimal system functionality. Support the Associate Controller of Cash Management by preparing financial statement workpapers and delivering training sessions. Maintain relevant website content and ensure that all procedures related to the role are developed, documented, and regularly updated. Perform other duties as assigned to support the broader goals of the Cash Management team and the Controller’s Office. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related field and four years of full-time experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and relevant experience equal to eight years. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing, supervising, training, and/or directing work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Knowledge of principles and practices of project planning, development, and evaluation. Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Experience evaluating process effectiveness and developing change or alternatives. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Proven ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Experience using accounting/financial enterprise resource planning systems (such as PeopleSoft/OMNI or comparable systems) to research, produce, analyze, and communicate complex financial data. Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. Experience reviewing and interpreting financial information, reports, data, and information. Ability to document existing and new processes. Knowledge of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations; ability to apply related university policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
