Lakeland, FL As an Assistant Controller you will: You willcoordinate all stages of the annual partnership tax return,prepares all detailed information required for the tax return to bereviewed by the independent accounting firm, and finalizes thereturn in time for the partner K-1s to be distributed on April 1.Interim Financial Statement Reporting ? Performs an overallanalytical review of my client’s monthly consolidated financialstatements and communicates the results to management in a timelymanner. Reconciles balance sheet accounts monthly. Annual FinancialStatement Audits ? Coordinates the preparation of all supportschedules requested by the independent accounting firm tofacilitate an efficient interim and year-end financial statementaudit of the client, as well as the client’s benefit plans. OtherTax Compliance ? Ensures that tax compliance is maintained for allother ancillary returns, including Forms 5500 and tangible personalproperty returns. Tax Research ? Reviews various tax issues(Clinic, CFR, CCCR, Foundation) for conformity with Clinic policyand IRS guidelines, as they arise. This also includes stayingcurrent with changes in prevailing tax and accounting rules. AnnualOperating Budget ? Prepares operating budget for review by theController and Finance Director. Annual General Insurance PolicyRenewal ? Calculates business income for each of the Clinic’slocations for the insurance broker in advance of the insurancepolicy renewal. Other Responsibilities ? Reviews payroll registersprior to submission to payroll company to ensure accuracy. Reviewsaccounts- payable check registers prior to weekly check run toreinforce internal controls. Performs other financial and/oranalytical tasks and participates in special projects, as requestedby the Controller or Chief Financial Officer.

The ideal candidatewill have:

Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree inAccounting or Business Administration. Certified Public Accountant(CPA) license. Preferred Education and Experience Master ofAccounting, Taxation focus preferred. Minimum of 5-7 yearsexperience in public or private accounting, primarily in the areaof taxation. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Computerliterate. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word andaccounting-related software. Pay Range•: 120k •Pay range offered to a successfulcandidate will be based on several factors, including thecandidate’s education, work experience, work location, specific jobduties, certifications, etc.
