Certified Dental Assistant Established Health Care Center in Philadelphia, PA Quality Community Health Center, a FQHC operating for 41 years, provides service at 3 locations in Philadelphia, PA managing the health and wellness of patients from infants through senior citizens. We practice medicine as a partnership between us and our patients. Currently, we are seeking a full-time Certified Dental Assistant. The Certified Dental Assistant will be required to provides high quality dental care to both adult and pediatric patients , be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
1. Provides direct dental assistance to dentist in all phases of dentistry. 2. Enters all data via computer as required into Dental Practice Management System. 3. Maintains clean, orderly, and disinfected operatories, sterilization room lab, break room and dark room after each patient. 4. Oils hand pieces. 5. Exposes, develops and mounts radiographs. 6. Disinfects and sterilizes dental instruments appropriately and after each patient w/ up-to-date protocols for HIV, HCV, COVID-19, etc. 7. Seats and greets patients in operatory and prepares for treatment. 8. Takes patient’s impressions and pours casts as prescribed. 9. Provides oral hygiene instructions to all patients. 10. Performs lab work, as prescribed. 11. Maintains all equipment according to schedule, including reporting any needed repairs as they occur. 12. Tracks all lab cases, including notifying labs of pick up, packaging and mailing cases and notifying patients of completed cases. 13. Keeps inventory on all clinical supplies and prepare orders in a timely fashion. 14. Prepares and mails spore test for autoclave, monthly. 15. Mails and distributes radiation badges, quarterly.
Requirements:
High school diploma or certificate from accredited school. PA Certification/Registration. X-Ray Certification. Knowledge of the Dentrix software program. Familiar with insurance coverages. Three years dental assisting experience. Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable

Drug Testing Requirement:
