We have a wonderful, small practice and our assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining Patient care and safety in our office. This role requires a combination of technical skills in sterilization procedures ,skills in patient care as well as four handed dentistry with the Doctor. Our office hours Monday thru Thursday.
Their primary responsibilities include:
Instrument sterilization: Cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing dental instruments and equipment using autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and other sterilization devices Infection control: Adhering to standard protocols for infection control, including wearing personal protective equipment and maintaining a sterile environment Inventory management: Restocking supplies, maintaining inventory, and ordering clinical materials as needed Equipment maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on dental equipment, including sterilization devices, and documenting sterilization records Patient care support: Escorting patients to treatment rooms, preparing them for procedures, and assisting dentists and hygienists during treatments Treatment room preparation: Cleaning and setting up treatment rooms for scheduled procedures Administrative tasks: Recording treatment information on patient charts, assisting with scheduling, and performing other clerical duties as needed Safety compliance: Maintaining
OSHA/WISHA
standards, following HIPAA guidelines, and managing biohazardous waste disposal Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Dental Assistant License required
- BLS certification
- Nitrous certification required
- Xray certification
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Physical ability to lift to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, squatting, and standing for extended periods
