The Neighborhood Resilience Project is looking for a Part-Time Dentist to help serve the needs of the community. The Free Health Center at the Neighborhood Resilience Project provides free medical and dental care to those with no health insurance. The mission of the organization is creating resilient healing and healthy communities. One block at a time. Rooted in the Gospel and teachings of the Orthodox Church, inspired by the Civil Rights Movement (American 1950s-1960s), the mission of the Neighborhood Resilience Project is to support the transformation of neighborhoods from Trauma Affected Communities to Resilient Healing and Healthy Communities through Trauma Informed Community Development.

Duties:

We recognize the significant demand for dental care and accessibility within our community. Our free health center, largely operated by volunteers, aims to enhance the quality of dental services by bringing on a part-time dentist. Our mission is to deliver exceptional care through a trauma-informed approach, fostering trust and positively influencing long-term health outcomes. We have a newly renovated facility equipped with two operatories and modern x-ray technology. Alongside providing exceptional dental treatment to our patients, the dentist will collaborate with our dedicated team of dental volunteers to support the clinic’s growth. This part-time role offers substantial flexibility and opportunities for creative contributions as the clinic continues to expand.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides routine dental services, including diagnosis and treatment plans, general restorative procedures, crown and/or bridge construction, removable prosthetics, uncomplicated endodontics and minor oral surgery Supervises Dental Hygienist(s) and Dental Assistant(s) when appropriate Provides dental and oral health education to patients and families Assists in reviewing clinic productivity, scheduling procedures, and establishing guidelines for care and treatment Teaches and trains patients and staff on illness prevention and assists with in-service and on-going training of clinic staff Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality Utilizes & monitors effectiveness/efficiency of equipment/supplies used in the delivery of services Responsible for participating in quality assurance, peer review and audit activities Lead in collaboration efforts with other supportive organizations and business

REQUIREMENTS
