Required Qualifications:
- One year’s recent experience as an EP Lab Tech
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification
- ARRT, RCES, or RCIS Certification

CurrentACLS Certification Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid RadiologicTechnologist license in compliance within state regulations
- PALSor ENPC Certifications
- Other certifications and licenses may berequired for this position
Summary:
The Electrophysiology (EP) LabTech is responsible for assisting in electrophysiology studies,cardiac ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, andother specialized procedures within the EP lab. This role involvespreparing patients for procedures, operating and troubleshooting EPlab equipment, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining a safeand efficient working environment. The EP Lab Tech plays a crucialrole in supporting cardiac mapping, ablations, pacemaker anddefibrillator implantations, and other specialized cardiacinterventions.
Essential Work Functions:
- Perform comprehensivenursing assessments for EP lab patients and document findingsaccurately
- Educate patients and families on electrophysiologyprocedures, pre-procedure expectations, and post-procedure care toensure understanding and informed consent
- Assist physicians withelectrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantations
- Administer medications, including conscious sedation, per physicianorders
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and patientresponses throughout procedures
- Identify and respond to changesin patient condition, escalating care as needed
- Maintain steriletechnique and assist with equipment preparation, setup, andtroubleshooting to support seamless procedural workflow
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implementpatient-centered treatment plans
- Provide immediate post-procedurecare, monitoring complications and ensuring stable recovery
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines,and regulatory standards
- Perform other duties as assigned withinthe scope of practice
Required Essential Skills:
- Criticalthinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communicationskills
- The ability to read, write, & communicate in the Englishlanguage is required
- Ability to read/comprehend writteninstructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PCskills
- Physical Abilities
- Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending
- Interpersonal Skills
- To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism
- Technical/Motor Skills
- Ability tograsp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move aboutwhen assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
- Mental Requirements
- Must be able to cope with frequent contactwith the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines underpressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionallyas well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must beable to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally andcontinuous concentration to detail
