The ideal candidate has at least 2 years’ experience working with children and is willing to become knowledgeable about our specialized area of practice. Vision Therapists work directly with patients (primarily school aged children) that have been diagnosed with learning issues (ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, autism) to help correct the underlying cause. You DO NOT need prior experience in this field! Our vision therapists are trained in-house and will work closely with the doctor and other staff members to further their expertise. We are looking for someone with initiative, who learns quickly and can take ownership of the role and training. If you are a happy and positive person who can learn new concepts quickly and think on your feet – this is for you. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Learn and implement one-on-one therapy to individuals with varying degrees of ability, (including individuals on the Autism Spectrum) in a professional and friendly manner Complete session record notes for each patient. Work closely with the optometrist and other vision therapists to maintain high levels of patient care. Communicate home activities to patients and parents. Maintain a clean and organized environment for therapy to take place.
