Job Description
Patient Care Supervisor Russellville Hospital 15155 U.S. Highway 43, Russellville, AL 35653 Summary The Nursing Supervisor is primarily responsible for representing Administration on their assigned shifts, communicating administrative concerns and implementing hospital policy. They may assist the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse with staffing and the allocation of staff to meet workload demands, coordinate placement of float staff, collaborate with Directors and Nurse Managers/Unit Managers on operational issues, and serve as a resource to internal and external customers. Functions as a mediator between internal departments to facilitate patient care by resolving issues/problems. Responsibilities Supervise and manage nursing staff to ensure effective patient care delivery. Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in line with best practices. Conduct regular assessments of patient care standards and staff performance. Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient treatment plans. Provide training and support to nursing personnel on clinical procedures and protocols. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and quality standards. Assist in triaging patients and managing critical care situations as needed. Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) license required; BSN preferred. Must complete Hospital-based ACLS and PALS within one year of employment. Proven experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare setting. Strong critical care skills with the ability to manage complex patient cases. Excellent team management and communication skills. Experience with neonatal ventilators is a plus but not mandatory. Familiarity with IV insertion, triage, and dialysis procedures is essential.
