Labor and Delivery Who We Are:

ElliotHospital’s Women’s and Children’s Services are dedicated toaddressing the specific health and wellness needs of women andtheir children. Options for Labor and Delivery include nitrousoxide, epidural anesthesia, surgical safety compliant with WorldHealth Organization guidelines for cesarean births and more. Onaverage, there are 150-180 deliveries per month, 10 beds with 2 ORsand a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3. About the

Job:

The ResourceNurse directly oversees and serves as an immediate, first lineclinical resource to staff on the floor of Labor and Delivery. TheRRN will demonstrates well developed clinical competenciesappropriate to the floor when providing direct patient care orguiding staff. The position will function as an integral member ofthe L&D management team and will work to ensure operations ofunit on assigned shift are running efficiently. The RRN will adhereto the values under the EHS Professional Practice Model which guideall dimensions of practice.

What You’ll Do:
  • Participates inprofessional enhancement activities including membership inhospital-wide committees, health system initiatives, development ofeducation materials, professional association activities
  • Providessupport and leadership to the Fitch team in developing integratedapproaches to care including assisting staff with the provision ofcare to assigned patients and assuming a partial patient assignment
  • Works in partnership with and serves as a resource to medicalstaff for relevant clinical issues
  • Collaborates and supports theClinical Nurse Manager
  • Teams up with the Clinical Nurse Managerto effectively control costs through innovative and economicalutilization of personnel, materials and equipment
  • Supports thedepartment’s Shared Governance structure and is accountable forquality improvement outcomes
Who You Are:
  • Graduate of anaccredited school of nursing (ASN or BSN
  • BSN preferred)
  • Minimumof two (2) years of current experience in an acute care settingrequired (Labor and Delivery experience required)
  • Current NewHampshire, compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurserequired
  • Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientationperiod and maintain during employment
  • ACLS preferred
