PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Establishes and strengthens linkages among community partners (i.e., Middlesex County American Job Center, employers, and county-based social services) for the purpose of facilitating healthcare training activities in Middlesex County.
Assists in monitoring/managing the College’s sub-recipient agreement with the grant recipient organization (Ocean County College).
Serves on and works closely with the Strengthening Community College Training Grant (SCC5) Steering Committee to effectively implement the project activities. Promotes and publicizes the healthcare training activities throughout Middlesex County.
Recruits and identifies potential program participants to ensure that training activities occur as outlined in the project implementation plan. Enlists the participation of local healthcare employers in the project activities and assists in updating an annual employer needs assessment.
Develops and implements assessments for student selection; assists in recruiting, selecting, and enrolling eligible participants. Provides student advisement.
Recruits, selects, and monitors instructors.
Teaches healthcare career courses, as needed.
Implements all aspects of program operations including: Instructor contracts and applications; Student Handbook; Coordinates student background checks, medical insurance and health forms; Procurement of materials, texts, supplies and equipment; Serves as clinical site coordinator; Trains and develops support staff.
Monitors program quality and student progress. Participates in all aspects of project evaluation.
Ensures compliance with all federal grant requirements as well as State and National credentialing agency requirements. Completes all financial/enrollment reports required by funding source.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or LPN/RN Three (3) years of experience coordinating workforce training for adults
Experience in a healthcare field
Experience supervising instructors
Experience teaching or managing Healthcare Career Programs
Working knowledge of program development Knowledge of Adult Education theory and practice
Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
Excellent written, verbal, leadership and interpersonal skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience coordinating workforce training in the healthcare sector Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record — position requires extensive travel throughout the County
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Duration:
Through 8/31/2029 with the potential to extend beyond this date contingent on funding
SCHEDULE
Monday- Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
RETIREMENT
Pension Eligible This is a specially funded position, dependent for its existence upon federal, State, or other non-College operating funds, and is not funded pursuant to the regular College budget. Continued employment is always contingent upon satisfactory performance and College needs. Grant funded positions are also contingent upon continued funding. This appointment is for the specified period only. Employment beyond the expiration date of the grant is subject to appropriate provisions of existing collectively bargained agreements in effect at the time for employees covered by those agreements.
Any Middlesex College employee hired after September 1, 2011 will have to meet the New Jersey residency law requirement.
