Direct Support Professional 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 6603 Highway 34, Chatham, LA 71226 Job Overview We are seeking Direct Service Professional (DSPs) to join our team. We have multiple locations available, which include: West Monroe, Eros, Chatham, Ruston, Simsboro, Jonesboro.

Duties Personal care assistance:

Bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and other personal hygiene tasks. Meal preparation : Planning, shopping for groceries, preparing meals, and assisting with eating.

Medication management:

Reminding clients to take medications and monitoring potential side effects (within scope of training and regulations).

Household chores:

Light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.

Transportation:

Accompanying clients to appointments, errands, or social activities.

Companionship:

Engaging in conversation, providing emotional support, and participating in leisure activities with clients.

Communication and documentation:

Maintaining client records by documenting daily activities, observations, and any changes in client condition.

Following care plans:

Implementing individualized care plans developed by healthcare professionals Characteristics Compassionate and patient demeanor: Ability to provide care with empathy and understanding to individuals with diverse needs.

Strong communication skills:

Effectively communicating with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals.

Physical ability:

Capability to perform physical tasks such as assisting with transfers, lifting, and mobility support.

Attention to detail:

Ensuring accurate medication administration and thorough documentation.

Reliability and punctuality:

Consistently arriving on time and fulfilling scheduled shifts. Basic understanding of personal care practices: Knowledge of hygiene, safety procedures, and infection control Requirements Must be 18 years or older. Must be able to pass a back ground check.
