PRN Summary:

Collects and documents admission and resident data with accuracy and reports unusual findings to RN and Physician in a timely manner. Collects and documents ongoing resident data with accuracy and reports unusual findings to the RN and Physician in a timely manner. Performs procedures and treatments according to Physician orders. Accurately and safely administers medications in accordance with policy and procedure and documents consistently. Implements the plan of care as directed by the RN and Physician. Receives and implements Physician orders accurately and on time. Provides a clean and safe environment according to the unit standards. Physician consults and tests received are implemented per policy and procedure. Offers assistance to residents and responds to request for assistance immediately. Consistently performs LPN skills, ie. feeding tubes care, foley cath insertion and care, blood sugar checks, pulse ox, injections and all other unit specific skills as assigned. Supervises care given by Certified Nursing Assistants.

Other information:

Acquires and maintains current job knowledge and competency in area of practice. (includes TB skin test, CBLs, In-services, maintaining license, required meetings or training sessions). Acquires and maintains current knowledge and competency in nursing practice and in geriatric care. Long term care experience preferred but not required. Meets attendance policy and enhances team effectiveness. Works as a team player, supporting and assisting the team. Problem solves and identifies areas of concern in the work area and develops solutions. Able to prioritize work load and complete in a timely manner. Caring and able to work with geriatric clients and their family. Be able to use equipment, ie. telephone, stethoscope, thermometer, weight scales, blood pressure cuff, blood sugar checks, mechanical lifts, emergency equipment, wheel chairs, geri chairs, bladder scans and any other unit specific equipment required. This job will be authorized 0.01 hours bi-weekly.
