$19.00 – $29.50 Department Details The Women’s Primary Careis a team of providers who collaborate closely with the nursing andleadership team to support patients seeking family medicine care atthe Sanford Women’s Plaza. The Integrative Health team consists ofan advance practice provider, clinical, exercise and acupuncturestaff who provide an integrative approach to patient care byproviding appointments and therapies such as aromatherapy,acupuncture, acupressure, yoga and guided imagery. 4 days a week!

Job Summary We’re seeking acaring, responsible, and empathetic Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) whowill be involved in assisting with patient care for all ages in anambulatory setting. The Medical Assistant will be an advocate forthe patient’s needs by collaborating with both the patient andtheir care team to ensure that the patient is comfortablethroughout their healthcare journey at Sanford. As a MedicalAssistant, you can look forward to creating strong bonds with yourpatients and co-workers and have multiple opportunities for growthand development. Responsibilities
- Collects subjective andobjective health status data from the patient or caregiver andcommunicates data to healthcare provider
- Follows through on thepatient’s plan of care under the direction of the provider
- Communicates the provider’s written instructions for care to thepatient, or caregiver
- Participates in care for patients, acrossthe lifespan, in all phases of preventative care, healthmaintenance, treatment, and follow-up as patients move in and outof care settings
- Obtains vital signs, prepares patients forexaminations, observes and reports patient’s signs or symptoms, andperforms point of care testing Qualifications Must be a graduate ofa recognized Medical Assistant program.
Prior experience in ahealthcare setting is preferred. Nationally certified or registeredas a Medical Assistant (MA). Certification (CMA) obtained through anationally approved certification program for medical assistant,including but not limited to: American Association of MedicalAssistants (AAMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)through the National HealthCareer Association (NHA), ClinicalMedical Assistant Certification (CMAC) through the American MedicalCertification Association (AMCA), or National Certified MedicalAssistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing(NCCT), etc. Registration (RMA) obtained through the AmericanMedical Technologists (AMT) also acceptable.
Additional staterequirements include:
North Dakota (ND) registration as an MAIIIthrough the ND Board of Nursing. If the incumbent does not alreadyhold their registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursingat time of hire they will be granted 4 months to obtainregistration. All medication administration performed by theincumbent prior to obtaining the MAIII must be supervised by alicensed nurse. Additionally, must also be registered on the NDBoard of Nursing UAP Registry if they do not possess MAIIIregistration at time of hire. MAs working within Minnesota (MN),Iowa (IA), South Dakota (SD) and Oregon (OR) do not require stateregistration. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredwithin six months of employment. Re-certification as required.
