Medical Assistant DermaMediQ 1705 Lamy Ln, Monroe, LA 71201 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, excellent patient service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in both outpatient and hospital settings. Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patients for adverse reactions. Provide support in emergency medicine situations, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Maintain accurate patient records, including coding for billing purposes. Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical histories, and documenting any relevant information. Collaborate with nursing staff in the Operating Room (OR) and assist with procedures as needed. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Demonstrate knowledge of physiology to effectively communicate with patients regarding their conditions and treatments. Requirements Previous experience or training in emergency medicine or hospital medicine is preferred. Strong patient service skills with the ability to empathize and communicate effectively with diverse populations. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety practices. Familiarity with Level I Trauma Center operations is a plus. Experience working in Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) is advantageous. Understanding of outpatient care processes and procedures. Proficiency in medical coding practices is desirable. Must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
