Medical AssistantJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant who will be responsible for rooming 12-15+ patients daily, working closely with a specific physician. The Medical Assistant will be part of a team to ensure coverage when needed and will handle various tasks including refilling patient prescriptions, fulfilling doctors’ orders, completing prior authorizations, charting in electronic medical records (Epic), taking vital signs with an emphasis on accurate manual blood pressure readings, and communicating test results to patients. Responsibilities Room 12-15+ patients per day and work closely with a specific physician. Refill patient prescriptions and fulfill doctors’ orders. Complete prior authorizations and chart in electronic medical records (Epic). Take vital signs, with a focus on accurate manual blood pressure readings. Communicate test results to patients, which constitutes 40-50% of the daily activities. Provide excellent customer service and patient care. Essential Skills National Medical Assistant Certification (RMA, NCMA, AAMA, NCCT, etc.). 6+ months of Medical Assistant experience (externship experience is acceptable). Experience with EMR/EHR systems, preferably Epic. Strong skills in taking vitals and manual blood pressure readings. Excellent customer service and patient care abilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to float between Salem and Keizer clinic locations as needed. Proven reliability and good attendance record. Understanding of medical terminology and insurance verification. Work Environment The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an initial 5×8 schedule during training, transitioning to a 4×10 schedule once training is complete. The role may require floating between two locations: Salem and Keizer clinics. The medical assistant will be joining a smaller clinic with a strong tenure of medical assistants and a very friendly team of providers and staff. The clinic is a nephrology/dialysis facility with a focus on geriatric patient care.
