Essex County OB/GYN is currently seeking an experienced Certified or Non-Certified Medical Assistant Level I, II, or III to join our team. The locations are Beverly, Danvers, Gloucester, and Haverhill. Summary of Position Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a nurse practitioner, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse or physician. Phlebotomy a must. Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Director, the Medical Assistant is responsible for rooming patients, obtaining chief complaint and appropriate vitals, assisting the physicians with procedures, administering injections, entering lab, ultrasound, and other orders, and coordinating and scheduling patient tests with hospitals or other offices. Essential Functions Rooms and interviews patients to obtain medical information and to measure their vital signs, weight, and height. Records information in the medical record. Alerts the provider when patient is ready and communicates pertinent clinical information Responds to needs to expedite visits and keep on schedule, ensuring efficient patient flow through the office Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the room stocked and cleaned, reordering supplies, and disposing of biohazard supplies. Maintain proper specimen handling and identification throughout the testing process, ensuring that the specimen and requisition names match. Phlebotomy experience a must. Helps physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections. Utilizes EHR system to perform front-office duties for check-in and check-out of patients. Understands proper function and care of special equipment. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. Minimum Requirements High School diploma or equivalent such as a GED Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Excellent communication skills Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with varying populations Ability to work in a fast paced environment Requires strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software, and date entry procedures. Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion Multiple Locations (Beverly, Danvers, Gloucester, Haverhill) travel when needed Preferred Qualifications Experience with office medical procedures and treatments, knowledge of insurance, managed care operations EMR experience with EPIC Certified Medical Assistant Previous 1-year experience in OB/GYN practice
