Job Description:
SCOPE:
Under the direction of the Medical Radiation Physicist, and following the dose prescription specified by the Radiation Oncologist, plans and calculates a radiation treatment plan for each patient presented utilizing CT-Simulation, PET, MRI, and portal images. The treatment plan created results in the delivery of the prescribed dose of radiation to a defined tumor volume for both external beam and brachytherapy procedure (if applicable).

QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of hospital or college affiliated medical Dosimetry school. CMD required RTT, LA State Licensure (LRT) desirable.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Experience in computer software related to radiation therapy; must have working knowledge of radiation safety, must be able to read and interpret CT scans, radiographs, computer printouts and other diagnostic tools, must be able to physically enter data into a radiation therapy treatment planning computer; must be able to visually distinguish different anatomical structures, tissue densities, and isodose lines on a computer screen; must have the mental ability to accurately manipulate equations related to the delivery of radiation therapy treatments.
